Private Express: Trans-Siberia-Mongolia-China

You've dreamed of the countries of the East; of what it's like on a different side of the planet. You've read about rugged expanses, the rise and fall of empires and the customs of people you never knew existed. You've thought about riding a train through places seldom seen, have a cup of tea with your former "cold war" enemies, or seeing if the Great Wall is as great as advertised. You've dreamed, read, thought it...now you can live it in the comfort of our Private Express!

Highlights

ALL CABIN CLASSES CAN BE BOOKED FOR SINGLE (SOLO) TRAVEL FOR ADDITIONAL FEES. SAME WITH THE HOTELS. INQUIRE A QUOTE.

THE PRIVATE EXPRESS (click for a photo tour)
Private Express offers five different compartment categories ranging from the budget-minded category with shared facilities to the best possible comfort with private facilities. The Staff on the train is about 80 including cooks, waiters, guides, technical staff plus local guides at each stop. Passengers about 180-200 per departure. Max group size during tours is 26. Along with sleeping accommodations, the train carries 3-4 wagons for dinning and entertaining. The showers for first and second class category guests are located in every 2nd to the 3rd wagon with 2 showers per wagon. The Nostalgic category has 4 hand-held showers for 8 cabins. The Bolshoi & Bolshoi Platinum category showers are en-suite with individual air-conditioning control. All other categories have central air-conditioning, but provided only when the train is moving. Electric outlets (110V and 220V) are available in each cabin and bathrooms. Games, newspapers, bottled water are supplied daily. Toilets and shower are cleaned frequently and stocked with toilet paper, soap & towels daily. All categories have ”smoker’s corners” at one end of each wagon. Note that the Chinese portion of the trip (Erlian <-> Beijing) is serviced by the Chinese Train. It carries wagons with 2 categories only: Standard 2nd class (4-berth) and Standard 1st class (2 berth), all centrally air-conditioned. Single use cabins are not guaranteed. There are no showers on the Chinese train. The ride takes about 16 hours. Main reason for changing trains is the difference between railroads width in China with Mongolia and Russia.

The compartment size is 7,15 m². It offers guests more living space, storage, and closed shower cubicle along with the WC and washing basin. Each cabin has individual air-conditioning. The dimensions of beds are similar to the "Bolshoi" (above) category.

DINNING/BAR wagons (click for a photo tour)
There are usually 3-4 wagons specifically dedicated for dinning, bar and group entertainment events. There is an educational program prepared for you. Our guides will conduct daily lectures on local history, geography, economy, culture, films about Russia, Mongolia and China, discussions with your local tour guides, and Russian language lessons. Local cuisine will be part of the menu along with traditional European dishes with caviar and vodka tasting on board the train. Food preferences are available upon request.
