Mrs. Ludmila Alexandrovna:
Mrs. Ludmila is retired and lives with her husband in Listvynaka village, but not in the apartment she is renting out for guests. The rental apartment is located on the 2nd floor of the 4 story (city type) building facing the Lake. It has 1 bedroom with one double bed, bathroom with the shower, kitchen, balcony with the Lake view, TV, phone for local calls only. Ludmila is a former school teacher. During your stay, Ludmila will be coming each morning to cook you breakfast.

Ms. Elena Urievna:
Elena Urienvna is a research assistant at the local Lake Baikal Museum in Listvyanka. She lives alone with her dog in the 2 bedroom apartment. The flat is a part of the 3 story building located right on the hill with the great view on the lake from the living room's balcony. Despite the age (50s), Elena is very active. She is often visited by her mother Galina and son Andrey, who permanently live in Irkutsk city. Her son is a full time student. Elena also often travels to Irkutsk and loves hiking, gardening and taking care of her dog. There are no smokers in the apartment. Elena can handle a simple conversation in English with the dictionary. But most important, she passionately loves Baikal and will be glad to share few secrets with you about the lake's life.

Ms. Galina Innokentievna:
Galina Innokentievna is in her late 50s. She lives alone (+ cat) in the 1 bedroom apartment located on the 3rd floor of a multistory building. Galina has a grown son and a daughter. The son lives around and visits Galina frequently and daughter is currently residing in the US. When travelers stay at the Galina's flat, she turns her living room into a guest room making it comfortable and cozy for everybody. One of the good things about the house is the location. It is only a few minutes away from the lake's shore making it very convenient for sightseeing walks. Gardening and cooking are favored things to do for Galina. She loves flowers and her garden speaks of itself. Passion for cooking probably comes from her former profession. She use to work in the cafe at the local hotel in Listvyanka. There are no smokers in the apartment. Galina can handle a simple conversation in English with the dictionary and is very good when it comes to navigating cultural differences.

"Pansionat" on Gorkogo Street
This type of accommodations is not exactly a home stay or hotel or B&B. It is more of a dormitory or motel type. Russians call it "pansionat", which technically means resort. As a rule, most "pansionates" are located far enough from the city noise in picturesque environment and truly are an ideal option for weekend and short holiday getaways. There is such in Listvyanka village. It was built a while ago when simplicity and equality were the life style. The old wooden building, simple room, bed with clean sheets and a desk is all you get. There are no inside bathrooms or running water. Toilet is an outdoor wooden box. For bathing, there is a Russian Banya. The director of the "pansionat" is Ms. Galina Ovcharova". She will be your "mama" during your stay. Galina usually leaves for the night and comes back each morning to check on guests and to cook breakfast.
